McDougall Metalworks began as a concept with a welding co-op during high school, where I earned my first CWB welding tickets and discovered a trade that would become the foundation of my career.
Before graduating high school, I passed structural welding tests (flat and horizontal position SMAW certificates) and worked on a large school-funded bleacher fabrication project - these structural certificates are typically obtained in welding college. What started as a skill quickly became something I took pride in mastering, and over the next 17+ years I built experience across welding, construction, manufacturing, building and multiple skilled trades.
That experience gave me more than the ability to weld and fabricate. It taught me how things are actually built, how they come together, how they fail, and how to approach a problem with the bigger picture in mind.
From very early on, I knew I wanted to build something of my own, and McDougall Metalworks is the result of that ambition: a company built around the belief that skilled work should be matched by world-class service, honest communication and a wonderful experience for the customer.

Our goal isn't simply to complete a welding or fabrication job. It's to understand what the customer actually needs, determine the right way to approach it, and deliver work that is built properly and intended to last.
Whether we're repairing something that has failed, fabricating something from scratch or solving a problem that doesn't have an obvious answer, we bring the experience of the trades and a commitment to doing things properly.
I started McDougall Metalworks because I wanted to build the kind of company I would want to deal with myself: knowledgeable, dependable, straightforward and genuinely invested in the outcome.
